Conversation Questions – Crime

If you want to do a lesson on crime, try to use some of these questions to get a lively class going! Good words to teach are highlighted.

  1. Have you ever been the victim of a crime?
  2. Have you ever witnessed a crime?
  3. Is there a lot of crime where you live? If so, what kind?
  4. What kind of law enforcement structure do you have in your town?
  5. Do you trust the police where you live?
  6. Have you ever encountered a case of vigilante justice?
  7. Is there a prison near to you?
  8. What it the most serious form of punishment where you live?
  9. Do you agree with this punishment?
  10. Can you tell me of an example where this sentence was imposed?
  11. Do you know of a case where somebody was found guilty but later exonerated?
  12. In the event of a miscarriage of justice, do you think that the person should get compensation?
  13.  Do you think that parole is a good idea?
  14. What crimes do you think warrant the most serious punishment?
  15. Do you have punishments other than prison? Community service, Fines, etc….
